A long road trip is exciting, but a breakdown far from home is stressful. A quick pre-trip check catches problems early and keeps your adventure on track.

**Vehicle checks (one week before):**
- **Tires:** Check pressure, tread depth, and condition. Look for unusual wear, cracks, or bulges.
- **Fluids:** Top off oil, coolant, brake fluid, power steering fluid, and windshield washer.
- **Brakes:** Listen for noise; feel for soft or spongy pedal.
- **Lights:** Test headlights, brake lights, turn signals, and emergency flashers.
- **Wipers & washer:** Ensure blades are clean and fluid reservoir is full.
- **Battery:** Confirm it's secure and terminals are clean.
- **AC & heating:** Confirm both work well for comfort during long driving.
- **Belts & hoses:** Look for cracks, fraying, or soft spots.

**Emergency kit to carry:** jumper cables, spare tire (with jack), tire plug kit, basic tools, flashlight, blanket, phone charger, water, and snacks.

**Not confident?** Schedule a pre-trip service with our team. We'll inspect everything and give you peace of mind.

**Get road-trip ready.** **Call (815) 453-8566** to book a pre-trip inspection. Safe travels!
